Summer Just Flew By
Way over due for a website update. Yes, we are still here; I have just been very busy this summer and fall.
Although the market place is still in turmoil, this boat show season brought some good news. Dealer inventories are shrinking and new boats are once again being built and sold. For overseas buyers the US brokerage market has better opportunities than ever before. The dollar has weakened again and the market has many distressed, very motivated sellers. Please note that many times we can’t advertise these “fire-sale” or “distressed” boats, so the best way to start the search is call or e-mail Timo.
No doubt about it our brokerage sales have slowed, but we have been busier than ever on the boat management side of the business. We have been working on refit and repair projects at boatyards from Florida to Maine. There have been some really interesting ones, like being a part of the build team that repaired Michel Kleinjan’s Roaring Forty after the singlehanded sailor bumped heads with a container ship in the Portimão Global Ocean Race. This major hull repair was done in less than 2 weeks and Michel was back at the start line for the last leg of his round the world adventure.
We are in the preliminary stage of a new build project: an expedition sailboat that is capable of exploring the most remote areas of the planet (in style). Stay tuned for updates on this.
We have added new capabilities. We now have Truck and a Hostar hydraulic trailer with sailboat arms. The hydraulic trailer allows us to load and unload boats without a travel-lift or a crane. A hydraulic trailer also gives us the opportunity to store boats in secure inland storage for a fraction of marina or a boatyard cost. We can also perform peaceful repossessions.
Unfortunately we can’t offer boat transportation for the public and we are not an interstate carrier, but we would be happy to refer our true and tested boat transport partner who has the skill and ability to move almost anything that can be put on the road.
Cheers
Timo
